Alex & Mike | Planterra Conservatory Wedding | Amanda Dumouchelle Photography
Alex and Mike wanted to have a wedding that would not only be memorable for them but for the guests as well. The love the couple have for each other made this celebration a hard one to forget!
The bride and the groom set the wedding date to their 6th anniversary, which happens to land in the middle of March. To avoid the unpredictable Michigan weather, the couple chose the Planterra Conservatory as their venue, allowing guests to stay indoors while still enjoying the wonders of the outdoors. To go along with the warm and romantic venue, the bride wore a succulent hair piece—living jewelry— made by Passioflower. Everything from the gorgeous wedding arch to the table centerpiece with subtle touches of pink made the atmosphere absolutely whimsical.
The music played in the wedding also created some very memorable moments. Before walking down the aisle, the bride intended to surprise the groom with a piano rendition of one of the groom’s favorite band; however, the DJ played the wrong song, and the groom’s confused look made all the loved ones present laugh in delight. The DJ then played the song “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” as requested by Alex and Mike, for a little ironic humor—the couple had a 5-year courtship, and the song starts with “Wise man say/ only fools rush in…” At the end of the night, there was also a spontaneous dance performance by the bride and some friends when the DJ played a song used in their dance cardio class!
An advice from the bride: “Focus on the things that are most important to you and be flexible about the rest. You can’t make every single thing perfect so just make sure the most important things are taken care of and trust the rest will fall into place.”
Congratulations, Alex and Mike!!
